Dua Lipa is a Brit singer/songwriter born in London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. She signed a contract with Warner Bros Records after a couple of years of work and dropped her self-titled debut album in 2017. It reached the top 3 spot on the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. These included Be the One I.D.G.A.F The U.K. number one Single New Rules as well as the U.K. Number. 1 Single New Rules. Lipa was awarded the Brit Award in 2018 as British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. Her album is certified platinum in a number of countries. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanians Anesa Laxha, and Dukagjin lipa. Dua Lipa is Bosnian descent by her maternal grandmother. Also, it is possible to find her family's roots in the Kosovo village of Peja. Her grandfathers were historians as well. She has a brother Gjin Lipa as well as a sister Rina. Lipa was heavily influenced by music by her father who was the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. His father would play music at home, and included songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five.
