Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom (Surrey) as the daughter of Josephine, who is a laboratory technician and John Ormond. She is the second of five children for her parents. The first time she performed in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. Then she attended Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After a year in art college, she moved to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art. She graduated in 1988. Ormond first made an appearance in British television in the 1989 series Traffik which focused on the illegal heroin trade that flows from the far East into the streets of Europe. Ormond was the heroin-addicted daughter of the main character, a Home Office minister who was involved in battling heroin imports. This was her first film role and received a fawning review.
